Curriculum and Classes
The curriculum features a comprehensive blend of classical ballet techniques, contemporary technique, partnering, variations, neo-classical phrase work, repertory, yoga, pilates, and conditioning. Students will also have the opportunity to explore a variety of other dance forms, including Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop, and Ballroom.
Elective Classes (subject to change)
Students will have elective classes and seminars throughout the program. For the afternoon session, students will choose an elective. Confirmed options will be listed on the registration portal. Past options have included Jazz, Hip-hop, Ballroom, Musical Theater, Contemporary Phrase Work, and Dance for Film. Courses with a performance opportunity in the final show will be marked clearly on the registration page.
Priority for elective enrollment is based on the date of enrollment and completion of 50% of tuition payment, with early sign-ups and payment securing first choice. To maintain an equitable process for all participants, access to elective selection will be sent via email on March 15 to students who have completed at least 50% of their tuition payment.
Cross-disciplinary electives outside the Summer Dance curriculum are offered evenings and weekends for an additional cost. Students are responsible for ensuring that any registrations outside of their intensives do not conflict with their training schedule. Visit the Cross-disciplinary elective page to learn more.
Other topics covered in our seminars and Q&A sessions may include:
- Careers in the Arts
- Dance History
- Dancer Wellness
- Injury Prevention
- Mental Wellness

Summer Dance Parent
I really saw the positive impact the summer intensives had on my student's technique and overall attitude/confidence. The online platform actually made it easier for my student to engage quicker. I appreciated how there was tech support and the canvas platform kept everything in one place. We had an incredible experience. The masterclasses were a huge bonus.
