Performance Overview
Spring Dance promises an unforgettable evening for dance enthusiasts and newcomers alike with a dazzling program of new works and reimagined classics. Dean Taylor Outlaw joins esteemed faculty members Ilya Kozadayev and Brenda Daniels in presenting innovative creations. Daniels' contemporary piece, set to Bach’s “Cello Suite No. 4”, will feature a live performance by School of Music graduate student Bruno Coz Núñez on classical guitar.
Adding to the dynamic lineup, guest artist Cherylyn Lavagnino and faculty member Phillip Broomhead will breathe new life into existing signature works. Lavagnino’s RU is a stylish and quietly powerful piece, set against the evocative music of composer Scott Killian’s “Shadowy Landscapes.” Meanwhile, Broomhead brings his extensive expertise in classical ballet to restage the iconic Paquita Suite. With original choreography by Marius Petipa, this romantic ballet radiates excitement, energy and virtuosic flair.
