Swing
Do you ever find yourself tapping your toes to Big Band music? Have you ever wanted to learn to swing dance but don’t know how or where to start? Well, then this class is for you! Come learn the foundations of swing dance. No previous dance experience is needed. Dance partners are not required, but you are welcome (and encouraged) to come with a friend. Please bring dance shoes, if you have them (jazz shoes are a good option). Otherwise, hard-soled shoes or socks work great (due to the nature of the movement, no sneakers, please). See you on the dancefloor!

Salsa
Salsa – not just a great pairing with chips. Come learn the foundations of this fun, lively social dance! No previous dance experience is needed. Dance partners are not required, but you are welcome (and encouraged) to come with a friend. Please bring dance shoes, if you have them (jazz shoes or character heels are a good option). Otherwise, hard-soled shoes (including non-stiletto heels) or socks work great (due to the nature of the movement, no sneakers, please). See you on the dancefloor!

Elizabeth Fowle is the Ballet Master for Winston-Salem Festival Ballet and also serves as Ballet Master for the pre-professional companies, High Point Ballet and Gary Taylor Dance, where in addition to serving as faculty, she restages a full Nutcracker every year and a Spring Concert. She also is as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, teaching Dance/Movement for Singers in the School of Music. Ms. Fowle has served in the roles of choreographer, assistant choreographer, and dance captain for various Piedmont Opera productions as well as acting as Dance Master for the AJ Fletcher Opera Institute’s production of Die Fledermaus. She has also provided choreography for the Camel City Jazz Orchestra and Sandhills Repertory Theatre in addition to choreographing musicals presented by Pinecrest Players and Imagine Youth Theatre.
Additionally, Ms. Fowle has served as movement instructor for the AJ Fletcher Opera
Institute and has been on faculty as the dance instructor and musical theatre choreographer
in the Drama School at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts summer
session and in addition to teaching master classes in Winston Salem/Forsyth County
and Moore County area high schools. In conjunction with her work as a Ballet Master,
dance instructor and choreographer, Ms. Fowle, a graduate of the University of North
Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Contemporary Dance, has also pursued a performing
career as a company member with Winston-Salem Festival Ballet, appearing as a guest
artist with High Point Ballet and Gary Taylor Dance, and performing in productions
with Piedmont Opera, Camel City Jazz Orchestra,
and Sandhills Repertory Theatre.
