The University of North Carolina School of the Arts Police and Public Safety Department is committed to providing a safe working, living and learning environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. In order for the department to continue providing the highest quality service, the performance of its employees must be closely monitored.
The Police Department is naturally interested in rewarding above-average performance. If you have a commendation, you will be able to create an email message from this page.
How a citizen can report a compliment
To commend or compliment the performance of a UNCSA Police and Public Safety Department employee, notify the Deputy Chief of Administration, Shift Supervisor or the Chief of Police by:
- Coming in person to the police department located on Kenan Drive during business hours of 8 a.m.-5
p.m. Monday through Friday,
- Emailing the following University Contacts:

When a commendation is received verbally, the employee will enter the compliment into the database and a UNCSA Department Awards Application may be completed and forwarded through the chain of command to the Chief of Police.
Letter of Commendation from citizens are posted for all department employees to view.
