International Advisors
Your international advisors are your first point of contact for all questions and concerns regarding your immigration status and requirements as an F-1 student. You may schedule an appointment via email for your initial check in appointment and any subsequent meeting/advising sessions. Drop-ins are currently discouraged for your and the staff’s safety.
Semester Check-In:
Each semester, regardless of F-1 status (new or returning), you must check in within
15 days upon arriving on campus and complete the International Student Check-In Form. Bring copies of the following documents listed below to your semester check in appointment:
- Biographical page of passport
- F-1 Visa in passport
- Signed Form I-20
- Form I-94
Writing Center & English as a Second Language (ESL) Assistance
The ESL Center is located in the Teaching and Learning Center above the Library Café on the 2nd Floor. You may schedule an appointment with any of the tutors or reach out to Nora Streed, who also has a background in providing support and assistance to international students. We encourage you to reach out to the staff for writing assistance, tutoring, cultural shock conversations, and/or English as a Second Language (ESL) assistance. Accessibility Resources is also located in the TLC and you may schedule an appointment if you require their services.
Health Forms and Insurance
All students must submit a Health History and Immunization form using the UNCSA Patient Portal. You must submit this form before you arrive in the United States. UNCSA Health Services will be your point of contact for all health and insurance concerns.
All students registered at UNCSA must maintain health insurance. UNCSA’s health plan is called StudentBlue and the cost per semester is included on your bill through student accounts. International students are not allowed to waive insurance so be sure to enroll by the deadline. Deadline for the semester is Sept. 11, 2023. You must enroll each semester while at UNCSA so be sure to bookmark the page.
Student Accounts
Fall semester bills are emailed in July to your UNCSA email account. Spring semester bills are emailed in November. If you have questions regarding your tuition bill or need to discuss alternative payment arrangements, please contact Student Accounts. Please note you will not receive a paper bill.
