Summer Pipe Organ Intensive

Our Summer Pipe Organ Intensive (POI) is a 5-day event that offers an opportunity for young organists to further their knowledge of the instrument and repertoire. 

Participants will be admitted upon submitting a recording and meeting the following eligibility guidelines:

  • Participants are between the ages of 13-18.
  • Participants must have had at least one year of organ study or have attended at least one AGO Pipe Organ Encounter and must have piano proficiency ranging from intermediate to advanced.

Summer Pipe Organ Intensive provides:

  • an opportunity for participants to further their abilities through individual and group instruction in the basic rudiments of pipe organ technique, service playing, improvisation, and repertoire.
  • an overview of organ literature, history, pipe organ construction and design, improvisation and other related topics.
  • most of all, a unique opportunity for participants to meet and interact with peers who have similar interests.
