I. Purpose
This regulation directs employees to the appropriate sources for policies concerning military leave entitlements, notice requirements, etc.; these policies are incorporated by reference.
II. Scope
This regulation applies to all UNCSA employees (including faculty and other EHRA employees) who otherwise qualify under the provisions of the incorporated policies.

A. Military Leave for Faculty
1. Military leave for UNCSA Faculty members is governed UNC’s Faculty Military Leave Policy, UNC Policy § 300.2.8, available at http://www.northcarolina.edu/policy/index.php?tag=300.2.8.
2. In the event UNC Policy § 300.2.8 is silent as to the application of Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (“USERRA”) or N.C.G.S. § 127A-116, UNCSA will apply OSP’s Military Leave Policy. In the event of a conflict between OSP’s Military Leave Policy and UNC’s Faculty Military Leave Policy, UNC’s policy will control.
B. Military Leave for SHRA and non-faculty EHRA employees is governed by OSP’s Military Leave Policy, available at http://www.osp.state.nc.us/manuals/5_Leave/Military%20Leave.htm.
C. UNCSA will provide a maximum of 15 days of leave under the applicable policies.
