Performances
Each school year, the Preparatory Dance Program students participate in Performance Ensemble to prepare two beloved child-friendly productions for the community: The Nutcracker Story for Young Audiences and Spring Performance. All ticket proceeds from the performances go to the Preparatory Dance Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund through the UNCSA Foundation Office.
"The Nutcracker Story for Young Audiences"
December 14 and 15, 2024
Performances at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The UNCSA Preparatory Dance Program's "The Nutcracker Story for Young Audiences" (formerly known as "The Nutcracker Tea Party") has become a much-loved annual family tradition that introduces children to the ballet through a fully narrated production designed specifically for ages 3 to 10! The 45-minute abridged performance of "The Nutcracker" features Clara’s Holiday Party, the mice battle, the serene angels, and fun dances celebrating the culture of various countries.
After the performance audience members have the opportunity to meet characters from the performance. Don’t forget to add on The Nutcracker Saturday Art and Dance Camp for a great themed movement experience.
Tickets are currently available online through the UNCSA Box Office. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Watson Hall Box Office (12-5 every weekday), and at (336) 721-1945 (12-5 every weekday) starting September 16.
