Office of the Chancellor

The Chancellor serves as the chief executive officer of University of North Carolina School of the Arts, with responsibility for providing leadership and fulfilling the mission and vision of UNCSA in every aspect of its operations.

On May 20, 2020, UNC System Interim President Bill Roper named Brian Cole as the ninth chancellor of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), effective immediately. He was installed on October 1, 2021. Cole joined UNCSA in 2016 to become the dean of the School of Music, and served as interim chancellor from August 2019 to May 2020.
