UNCSA students advance to Fulbright semifinalist stage
Four UNCSA students have advanced to the semifinalist stage of the highly competitive
U.S. Student Fulbright program, marking a significant achievement for both the students
and the faculty who have supported their journey:
- Busola Adeboyejo (School of Filmmaking) Open Study/Research Award, Nigeria. Project Title: “Old Wounds, Old Remedies: Preserving the Past and Healing the Future with Herbal Medicines”
- Hannah Mufuka (School of Music) Open Study/Research Award, Canada. Project Title: “Anishinaabe Soundscapes: Reciprocity's Environmental Effects”
- Jamilah Muhammad (School of Drama), English Teaching Assistantship, Kenya
- Baron Young, (School of Music), English Teaching Assistantship, Germany
Led by Fulbright Director Andrew Britt, UNCSA’s Fulbright committee includes faculty from across the conservatories and the Division of Liberal Arts: Michael Alvarez, Hans Gabriel, Martha Golden, Shahin Gorgani, Anson Koch-Rein, Steve LaCosse and Endalyn T. Outlaw.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program, one of the most prestigious international exchange programs in the world, provides opportunities for recipients to conduct research, pursue creative projects or teach English abroad. A huge congratulations to these students for progessing so far!
