Oscar Ramirez

Oscar Ramirez began studying trumpet at the age of 10 in his native Guatemala City, Guatemala.  

He has studied with Elmer Churampi of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and is honorary member of the Costa Rican Trumpet Academy. In Guatemala, he has been the conductor of the Colegio Catolico San Pablo Band and trumpet player in the Philharmonic Band and National Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also performed in National Theater of Costa Rica with the trumpet ensemble. Oscar recently performed with the Miami Music Festival orchestra as a fellowship recipient.

Oscar is also the first Guatemalan trumpet player to pursue a degree in music in the US. He is a third-year undergraduate at UNCSA, studying with David Dash.
