Well, faculty string players Brooks Whitehouse, cello, and Paul Sharpe, double bass, will show you in their program “Low & Lower Standards.” When not in their professorial mode, this sidesplitting duo – that sometimes adds their own voices to the proceedings – leaves audiences delighted, entertained, and thoroughly amused, not to mention thrilled by their consummate artistry.

Nothing is safe from their shameless parodies — musical standards, brave new works, daring arrangements, nursery rhymes, poems, and past hits. They’ve been doing their bit for 15 years and this concert launches their next quindecennial.
