Camille Pettiford

Camille Pettiford is originally from Charlotte, NC where she started her dance training in ballet under René Olivier, contemporary, and jazz at Charlotte Ballet. In addition to her dance training, Camille attended Northwest School of the Arts for middle school and half of high school as a dance major as well as a technical theater major.

To further her passion, Camille attended the Dance Theater of Harlem summer intensive in 2017, where she studied pointe, African, and hip hop. Camille also has a love for choreography as she has choreographed her now 6th production with her mother’s theater company Porch Productions including "Beauty and the Beast," "Willy Wonka," "A Christmas Carol," "The Little Mermaid" and "Elf." Her time with the company revealed her love for working with children.

Camille transferred to UNCSA for her second half of high school and is continuing her journey there for college. During her time at UNCSA, Camille has worked with esteem faculty Brenda Daniels, Abigail Yager, Ming-Lung Yang, Kira Blazek-Ziaii, Emily Nicholas and more through the studies of Cunningham Technique, Limón Technique, Counter-Technique, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Improvisation, Composition and Music Studies. She has performed works by Ming-Lung Yang, an excerpt from Trisha Brown set by Abigail Yager, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Amyia Burrell, Anthony Lee Bryant and Andrew Harper. Camille plans to further her career by joining a company and exploring abroad.
