UNCSA Stage Combat Reacts to “House of the Dragon” Fight Scene

The HBO original series "House of the Dragon" soared onto screens this fall — exceeding all expectations and proving itself to be a worthy successor of the massively successful "Game of Thrones" franchise.

Those familiar with the franchise know that it isn’t a “Game of Thrones” story without conflict, and “House of the Dragon” is no exception. The series wasted no time flying into battle with a joust between King Viserys’ brother Daemon Targaryen and Lord Commander of the Kingsguard Ser Criston Cole during the series premiere.

But just how realistic are actors Matt Smith and Fabien Frankel's combat skills? UNCSA School of Drama faculty and Stage Combat expert Kelly Mann and third-year drama student Anthony Littlepage-Buggs react to and break down the fight scene.
