Percussion
Percussion at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts focuses on discovering your unique voice as an artist. As a student in this program, you'll benefit from one-on-one private lessons, studio classes, chamber music coachings, guest artist master classes, and numerous opportunities to showcase your skills.
Aside from the Percussion Studio Suite (a room large enough to host large chamber music set ups, two sets of timpani, two drum sets, a plethora of drums, keyboard instruments, a piano, and an Apple TV with a sound system) the students have access to five additional practice rooms. The percussionist's studio houses a wide array of instruments suitable for classical orchestral compositions, Latin/Afro-Cuban performances, contemporary music and commercial percussion.
Our program offers educational paths including a high school diploma, an undergraduate Bachelor of Music degree, a graduate Master of Music degree and a post-graduate Performing Artist Certificate.
