Scott Ressler teaches cinematography in the School of Filmmaking's undergraduate program. His extensive credits as camera operator and head of photography for television include “Twin Peaks,” “Dexter,” “Chasing Life” and “Children’s Hospital.” Film credits as camera operator, head of photography and cinematographer include “Amityville: The Awakening,” “Jurassic Park III,” “My Sister’s Keeper,” “I Heart Huckabees,” the “Scream” franchise, the “Austin Powers” franchise, “Mulholland Drive,” “Lost Highway,” “Cider House Rules, ” “The Extra,” “Mansion of Blood,” and “Pooltime.”
Each course includes multiple discussions on the workings of the industry, including the craft and the politics. The workshops reflect the actual conditions and demands of the profession. My students should have a realistic idea of what it takes to find work and have a long, successful career within the industry. This includes long-term practices that may be of benefit in their later positions.
