Sara Havener Miller is originally from North Carolina where she began dancing at the age of 5 and went on to graduate from UNCSA in 2010 with a focus in ballet. Sara began her professional career with the Royal New Zealand Ballet and later went on to join the Atlanta Ballet as a company dancer performing both soloist and principal roles.
Miller then joined United Ballet Theatre in 2018 as a company dancer where she had the opportunity to work with several renowned choreographers in the field today such as Yury Yanowsky and George Birkadze. As a teacher, Miller has taught for the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Education Program, the Atlanta Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education, the Orlando Ballet School and United Ballet Theatre.
Miller recently received her CPT and BCS through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and became co-owner and trainer of Proteus Fitness, founded by Alex Gonzaga. The mission of Proteus Fitness is to make the dance world healthier and more positive by providing affordable and accessible cross training and injury prevention to professional and pre-professional dancers all over the world. Sara is so excited and honored to be teaching for UNC School of the Art’s Festival of Dance.
