Rod Isom

Rod Isom serves in a dual role as Internal Auditor at UNCSA and Interim Chief Audit, Risk and Compliance Officer at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). Isom has been with the WSSU Internal Audit department for six years. During his time with WSSU, Isom has been a part of the department’s growth and quality assessment reviews, which resulted in the department receiving the highest rating of general conformance with auditing standards.

• Joined the WSSU Internal Audit department in 2014, appointed Audit Manager in 2016
• Former External Auditor with Big 4 accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers 
• Former Divisional Internal Auditor for the Salvation Army North and South Carolina Divisional Headquarters
• Former Accountant for the Salvation Army
• Certified Internal Controls Auditor

Organizations

• Served as Vice President, President and Past President for the University of North Carolina Auditors Association (UNCAA)
• Member of the Risk Dictionary Committee for the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA)
