As a counselor, my goal is to foster a space where students feel safe to explore their experiences and express their authentic selves. I believe in counseling as a collaborative process – building an environment of openness and a strong therapeutic alliance which empowers students to take meaningful steps towards wellness.
My counseling philosophy is based in a person-centered, humanistic approach. I believe a core part of the counseling journey is recognizing students as the experts in their own lives and taking a holistic view of each student as an individual. I approach counseling from a trauma-informed and social-justice perspective and invite students to bring all identities into the counseling space.
In my free time I enjoy collecting typewriters, watching hockey, and organizing my film collection.
