No tuition, fee or housing increases

Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to share the good news for our students and their families that we will not increase tuition, fees or housing costs for 2024-25. This includes all resident (in-state)  as well as nonresident (out-of-state) high school, undergraduate and graduate students.

This decision is in keeping with the UNC System’s guidance and commitment to higher education affordability and accessibility for residents of North Carolina. President Peter Hans' proposal, approved by the UNC Board of Governors, keeps resident undergraduate tuition flat for the eighth consecutive year. I am also cognizant of last year’s increases and want to do what I can to help ease the financial burden on our families when possible. UNCSA, and the UNC System as a whole, consistently offers an incredibly valuable and affordable option for students, and it is my goal to uphold that important distinguishing factor about our university.

I also hope this news offers a sense of relief as the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is delayed until December 2023. You are still encouraged to submit your FAFSA by the UNCSA FAFSA priority filing date, Feb. 1, 2024, to be considered for maximum possible aid.

While I am happy to announce this decision, I also reiterate our strong commitment to Institutional Sustainability, which is one of the five pillars of our strategic plan, UNCSA Forward. We will continue to strive to find the right balance between being responsible in addressing our institution’s fiscal needs and sustainability while minimizing the economic impact on current and future students and their families.

Sincerely,

Brian Cole
