Kenan Sponsored Workshops at the Penland School of Craft
Applications for the Summer 2025 Kenan Sponsored Workshops at the Penland School of Craft for UNCSA Faculty are now open!
This summer, the Kenan Institute for the Arts will support up to five UNCSA faculty members by expanding their creativity through summer workshops offered at the Penland School of Craft.
What is Offered
Support from the Kenan Institute includes tuition for summer workshops (one- or two-week sessions), housing on the Penland campus, and a delicious home-cooked meal plan; Penland is well versed in accommodating dietary needs.
Housing options are a single room with shared bathroom (shared with another room) on the Penland campus or a reimbursement of the equivalent cost for those who prefer to find local housing on their own, which amounts to $1,100 for the one-week session and $2,000 for the two-week sessions.
Eligibility & Application
UNCSA faculty at the assistant, associate and full-professor level are eligible to apply. Participants will be selected by a peer-panel review committee. Priority deadline to submit an application for consideration is Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025.
All skill levels are welcome; everybody learns from each other. The only prerequisite is a passion for making.
