Office of Advancement welcomes new staff members

Joseph Proud, Bridget Werner and Eric PeckOver the summer, the Office of Advancement was joined by three new staff members, who are already deeply engaged with the important work of fundraising, donor recognition, and event planning at UNCSA.

In June, we welcomed Joseph Proud as Director of Development. He came to UNCSA from the University of Idaho, where he served as Assistant Director of Development and Donor Experience Officer. An accomplished saxophonist, he also served as an Adjunct Saxophone Instructor at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. Originally from Connecticut, Joseph received his doctorate of musical arts in saxophone from the University of Alabama, his master's in saxophone performance from Columbus State University, and his bachelor's in music from Central Connecticut State University. Joseph is married to Teodora Pejašinović Proud, who recently joined the School of Music as Assistant Professor of Oboe. Together, they perform as prize-winning chamber group The Proud Duo.

Bridget Werner joined the office in early July as Annual Giving Program Manager. With seven years of human service experience, including most recently serving as the Director of Program Development with Family Abuse Services of Alamance County and then the Director of Communications with Guilford County Partnership for Children, she understands the importance of being an effective and collaborative communicator to relationship-build and create positive change to reach goals. Originally from Northern Virginia, Bridget is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and received her master's in Women's and Gender Studies from UNC Greensboro.

And earlier in August, we were pleased to announce Eric Peck as our new Special Events Manager. Eric is co-owner of Radar Brewing Company in Winston-Salem, and previously served in management roles at Foothills Brewing and New York's Brooklyn Brewing, all of which gave him extensive experience in event planning, budgeting, staffing, and other skills essential to planning and executing high-level events. He also has experience as an actor and writer, and received his B.F.A. in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College.

We are delighted to welcome these new team members as we work to better facilitate philanthropy and elevate UNCSA.
