Five graduating students and 10 alumni are winners of the annual Artpreneur Awards. The Artpreneur Initiative provides graduating college students and alumni the opportunity to receive funding to support their creative works and enterprises deemed to be of the highest merit, artistic excellence and innovative potential.

Two alumni and five members of the Class of 2021 will receive annual Artpreneur Awards from UNCSA, Chancellor Brian Cole has announced. The awards were established in 2017 to nurture and support entrepreneurship in creative projects and creative enterprises. Alumni artpreneurs will each receive $10,000 and student artpreneurs will receive $2,500 each to support their work.

UNCSA presents Artpreneur Award-winning alumna Olivia Mead offering a free yoga training webinar designed specifically for first responders who are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Finding Balance: Restorative Yoga for Bodies That Push Their Limits" is at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.

Jessica McJunkins' award for creative project will support her work as a cultural equity contractor for artists of color. Olivia Mead's award for creative enterprise will sustain her nonprofit organization, YogaShield Yoga For First Responders (YFFR).

Five members of the class of 2020 are recipients of Student Artpreneur Grants of $2,500 each to support their creative work or creative enterprise: Tramaine Raphael Gray, Miles McKeller-Smith, Mayra Rodas, Lauren Blair Smith and Kayana Waller.
