Ruby Westhoff (she/her) is an actor-playwright born and raised in New York City. Her passion for the arts began early when she was cast as the Angel Gabriel in her Christmas pageant at age seven. Even though her two lined solo had to be lowered two octaves to accompany her naturally low voice, Ruby knew she had found her passion.
Since then, Ruby has pursued her love of theater-making at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She has also ventured into creating her own work, earning a playwriting certificate at NYU Tisch in the summer of 2022, and writing her first full-length play "All the People I Know," which she intends to develop further in the spring.
Most recently, Ruby was cast as Sarah Weddington in “Roe” directed by UNCSA alum Acadia Barrengos. This opportunity allowed Ruby to immerse herself in a subject matter she was deeply passionate about while continuing to develop her skills as an actor. Ruby hopes to further this growth outside of UNCSA, and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
