Peyton Dawes

Peyton Dawes is a dancer from Raleigh, North Carolina. She began her dance training at CC&Co Dance Complex where she was introduced to jazz, tap, hip hop, and ballet. Her love for ballet led her to complete a year at International Ballet Academy, after which she joined Carolina Dance Centers pre-professional Company to receive intense ballet and contemporary training.

Currently, Peyton is working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where she has performed new works from Brenda Daniels, Juel Lane, Ashley Lindsay, Pearlann Porter, and Kira Blazek-Ziaii. She has also worked on repertory pieces from renowned choreographers like José Limón and Ming-Lung Yang. Besides her BFA training, Peyton has participated in various summer dance programs, including Joffrey Ballet, B12, Cumulus, and UNCSA’s summer program. She is grateful for the opportunities and projects that being a student at UNCSA has given her. Outside of extensive training in contemporary, ballet, and various modern techniques, UNCSA heightened Peyton’s knack for creativity in other artistic aspects. The environment has provided rich opportunities to collaborate with other art disciplines and through this collaboration she has found a passion for dance film and editing, which she continues to develop outside of her contemporary dance training. Peyton will graduate in the Spring of 2025 with a BFA in Contemporary Dance and enthusiasm for continuing her path.
