Miranda Faria is a Portuguese-American actor born in Lisbon, Portugal. Moving to the U.S. at 10 years old, Miranda quickly developed a deep fascination for human behavior. During this transition, she learned to decipher classroom conversations through body language before she ever learned to speak english. At 11 years old her father gave her an ultimatum: give up gymnastics or take one acting class. Seven years later, she graduated from Dreyfoos School of the Arts as an acting major.
She currently continues to surround herself with art by sewing her own clothes and writing plays. Miranda recently took her original play "I Won’t Tell," a story of Portugal's introduction of colonization in Japan, to Hollywood Fringe. Miranda is fascinated with historic events as they pertain to her nationality. She hopes to continue exploring what it means to be an intercontinental artist.
Miranda recently attended Edinburgh Fringe where she played Bethany in "Why Did I Crush My Balls?" (Darah Barenholtz). Her UNCSA credits include Fefu in "Fefu and Her Friends" (Darah Barenholtz), Maria in "Twelfth Night" (Jason Bohon), and Irene Gant in "Enron" (Vivian Farahani).
Up next, she will play Emily in "Lifespan of a Fact" (Eric Canfield).
