Julia Ott is an actor, director, writer and deviser hailing from the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. Julia planned on studying literature and outdoor education, until she stepped on the stage for the first time in a production of Thornton Wilder’s "Our Town."
Her passion for storytelling stems from a deep desire to understand human nature and behavioral patterns. Her artistry has always revolved around asking questions and getting to know people more deeply. Julia will always be the first to ask a question and the last to answer; she believes that space in between is where the best work is created.
When not working on her art, you are most likely to find Julia hiking in the mountains, baking for her friends or reading three different books at the same time.
Recent UNCSA credits include Bets in "Fairview" (dir. Jackie Alexander), Ivy in "John Proctor is the Villain" (dir. Mya Brown), Daughter in "Enron" (dir. Vivian Farahani), and directing/writing an original work entitled "The Knowledge of Water."
Upcoming credits include Sofie in "Wink" (dir. Darah Barenholtz) and Charlotte Cary in "The Welkin" (dir. Acadia Barrengos).
She is so grateful to be where she is and is excited to see what comes next.
