Emma Claire Kae is an actor, singer and creator from Upstate New York. She began performing at two years old, assuming different character roles each day at pre-school. Her childcare providers would frequently pose the question, “who is she this morning?” unsure if they would meet Captain Hook from the day prior, or if she had resorted back to her favorite persona, the Pillsbury Doughboy.
Now, Emma strives to foster awareness and support for communities who have been marginalized by theatrically magnifying unheard voices. Her art focuses on specific narratives centered around the complexities of womanhood within whole health contexts (physical, mental, spiritual, and environmental health), in order to universally inform and connect with audience members of any identity. She believes that the power of art can aid in systemic change.
Emma enjoys making lattes, writing poetry, and doing hot yoga! She has also starred in various short films and is currently codevising an original social justice theatre piece to uplift the experiences of women in the carceral system. This spring, you can catch her as Emily in "Our Town" at UNCSA.
