Deandre was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and raised in Miami, Florida. Prior to attending UNCSA, he was featured in Classic Stage Company's 2015 production of "Mother Courage and Her Children." In 2016, Deandre was a company member of the Encores Off-Center Production of Elizabeth Swados’ “Runaways,” an experience that sparked a passion for language and devised theatre which drove him to seek a deeper knowledge of his craft accompanied with rigorous training, landing him at UNCSA.
Deandre has had the immense privilege of being a co-creator on “The Inheritance” and “Love & Depositions,” the first two devised productions written entirely by students to premier on the UNCSA mainstage. This fall he played the lead in Roy Williams' “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner,” directed by Quin Gordon. Deandre is beyond grateful for all of the opportunities to collaborate he’s received at school and is excited to continue exercising his artistry.
