Adelyn “Addy” Harris, is a Contemporary Dance major at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. At the age of 5, she began training at the North Carolina Dance Institute in Raleigh, NC, under the direction of Kirstie Tice Spadie. Throughout her 11 years with the studio, she studied various dance genres and performed in several productions with Carolina Ballet and in North Carolina Theater’s production of Memphis. In recent years, she has expanded her training to include summer intensives with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and the American Dance Festival.
Addy is a 2022 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts High School Dance program. Now working towards her BFA, she has performed in various works by Juel Lane, José Limón, Robert Battle, Shen Wei, and Merce Cunningham, and is featured in the UNCSA Film project “NEXT”, co-choreographed by Ashley Lindsey and Grady Bowman. In her time at the school, she has worked towards finding her artistic voice while strengthening her technique. After completing her degree, she aims to join a post-modern dance company.
