UNCSA Symphony Orchestra – Nov. 2

The UNCSA Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of acclaimed conductor and UNCSA Music alumnus Robert Franz, will perform a program featuring the rhythmic energy of Beethoven’s “Seventh Symphony” alongside “Chokfi’” by contemporary Native American composer Jerod Impichchaachaahaʼ Tate. “Chokfi’,” the Chickasaw word for rabbit, is presented as a character sketch of the trickster figure, an important symbol in Southeast American Indian cultures. Throughout the piece, different instruments and techniques will be used to represent the rabbit’s mischievous personality. The concert takes place at Brendle Recital Hall on the campus of Wake Forest University, 1775 Wake Forest Road, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m.
