The UNCSA 2024–25 performance season, “UNCSA Presents,” continues this March with the pop opera adaptation of “Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812”; the UNCSA Spring Chamber Music Festival, featuring guest cellist Zvi Plesser; the Undergraduate Opera Scenes; and “Percussion Goes to the Movies,” which reimagines iconic film scores with bold, percussion-driven arrangements.
Tickets to “Percussion Goes to the Movies” are free and can be reserved online. All other events are $25 per event for adults and $20 for non-UNCSA students with a valid ID and tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 336-721-1945.

Spring Chamber Music Festival – March 11 & 15
The School of Music will present its Spring Chamber Music Festival, a celebration
of beautiful music and artistry featuring guest cellist and former Music faculty member
Zvi Plesser and guest artist Maria Lambros, viola. In its fifth year, the Chamber Music Festival,
organized by Music faculty members Dmitri Vorobiev and Ida Bieler, will be presented across two evening performances, which will feature a meticulously
curated program of classics alongside contemporary works.
The first concert, on March 11, will be dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven, marking a festival first with an all-student ensemble performing “Kakadu Variations,” followed by the monumental Septet, Op. 20. The second concert, on March 15, will feature chamber music masterworks, including Ravel’s Piano Trio, Dohnányi’s Piano Quintet, Op. 1, and Brahms’ String Sextet in G major, Op. 36.
The performances will take place Tuesday, March 11, and Saturday, March 15, both at 7:30 p.m. at Watson Hall on the UNCSA campus, 1533 South Main St.
“Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812" – March 27–30 & April 3–5
The performances will take place Thursday through Saturday, March 27-29, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m.; and Thursday through Saturday, April 3-5, at 7:30 p.m. Please note that additional tickets may become available closer to the event date. All performances will take place in the Catawba Theatre in Performance Place on the UNCSA campus, 1533 South Main St.

Percussion Goes to the Movies – March 23
The UNCSA School of Music’s Percussion Studio will present “Percussion Goes to the Movies”, a dynamic performance that reimagines iconic film scores through bold, percussion-driven arrangements. Talented students and faculty, under the direction of faculty member Ksenija Komljenović, will showcase original arrangements that honor some of the most celebrated musical themes in cinematic history from films like “Home Alone,” “Moana,” “Star Wars,” “Mission Impossible,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” and more. The performance will take place Sunday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Watson Hall, located on the UNCSA campus, 1533 South Main St.
Undergraduate Opera Scenes – March 30
The School of Music will present "An Afternoon at the Opera" as part of the Undergraduate Opera Scenes series, featuring undergraduate opera students in a recital of one-act operas. Guest stage director and UNCSA alumnus Kenneth Overton leads the production, with music direction by Steven LaCosse, vocal preparation by Mary Ann Bills and accompaniment by pianist Lauren Winkelman. The program includes "The Impresario" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Trial by Jury" by Gilbert and Sullivan and "A Game of Chance" by Seymour Barab. The performance will take place on Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. in Agnes de Mille Theatre on the UNCSA campus, 1533 S. Main St.
