Tamar Pandi named Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Tamar PandiI am thrilled to announce that Tamar Pandi has accepted the offer to be UNCSA’s next Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective July 1!

Tamar has been serving as UNCSA’s Interim CIO since January 2024 after former CIO Terry Harmon’s retirement. In addition, Tamar has served as UNCSA’s Deputy Chief Information Officer since 2021.
 
A UNCSA alum, Tamar has over 29 years of experience at UNCSA in a broad range of IT disciplines such as network security, client services, classroom support, infrastructure design, application development and systems administration. Recently, Tamar obtained his CGCIO certification after graduating from the year-long Certified Government Chief Information Officers Program™ at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Government.
 
I would like to thank the Search Committee members, who put in countless hours to work on this important position. Working alongside the Search Firm, they narrowed the list of more than 140 applicants down to 8 for virtual interviews, and then down to 3 finalists for on-campus interviews. Search Committee members were: Gary Penrod-Chair, Martin Ferrell, Steve Gallagher, Nakita Green, Sharon Hush, Aaron Ross, and Brock Snyder.
 
In addition, I would like to thank the following IT members who participated in the on-campus interviews: John Emanuel, Jessica Greenstein, Nick Johnson, William Lee, and Dennis Wilson. And I would like to thank members of the Executive Leadership Team who were able to participate in the on-campus interviews. The feedback from all groups was invaluable.
