Staff Enrichment offerings slated for July

Staff EnrichmentStaff Enrichment will be held July 16 & 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-5 p.m. Programs will last one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted.

Please remember that Staff Enrichment is for eight hours of time, so you may not be able to attend everything. Be sure to work with your supervisor to ensure sessions work with work schedules.

Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time.

Tuesday, July 16

  • Travel Rules & Regulations
    • 11 a.m.-noon
    • Hosted by Gray Bobbitt & Sarah Rimawi
    • Location: Microsoft Teams
    • Traveling on behalf of the University can be a complicated matter, with policy at the institutional, state and federal level. This refresher will cover the process from beginning (authorization) to end (reimbursement) and what is allowable in-between.
  • Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR): Suicide Prevention
    • 2-3 p.m.

    • CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year. Join this session to learn about QPR, how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis, and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
  • Behind-the-Scenes: School of Filmmaking
    • 3-4 p.m.

    • Location: Hollywood Blvd. – Under the ACE Theatre Complex Marquee
    • Go behind the scenes in the School of Filmmaking on a walking tour of UNCSA’s Film Village. The tour will visit a movie theater, a sound stage, a scoring stage, Foley stage, more. Not sure what a Foley stage is? Come learn about this amazing, unique, and fascinating School program with us?
  • Casual Run Along the Greenway
    • 4-5 p.m.
    • Hosted by Dave LaVack
    • Meet outside North End of the Library, near the bike rack
    • Anyone who has thought about running but isn’t sure is encouraged to come out and join for a casual run; no one will be left behind. Faster folks can run ahead while others focus on fundamentals – and having fun doing it! Everyone has to start somewhere, so don’t miss this chance to join your colleagues and have some fun while doing something healthy for your body and mind.
