Sierra-Loren Chapman

Sierra-Loren Chapman (she/they) was born in Paducah, Kentucky, and grew up in Central Florida. Currently a Contemporary Major at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), Sierra-Loren anticipates receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in Contemporary Dance in Spring 2025.

With 17 years of diverse training, Sierra-Loren's dance background includes styles such as Cunningham, Countertechnique, Horton, Ballet, Pointe, Improvisation, Composition, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, and Musical Theater. At UNCSA, she has gained rich performance experience, participating in various repertory pieces and new works. Some of their favorites include works by Jim Vincent, Juel Lane, Pearlann Porter, Merce Cunningham, Darrell Grand Moultrie, and Brenda Daniels.

Outside of school, Sierra-Loren furthered her artistic education through Summer Intensives, working with notable choreographers like Alexandra Damiani, Jacob Jonas, Victor Quijada, Juliano Nunes, Tom Weinberger, and Bruno Guillore. Sierra-Loren’s hunger to create and collaborate with other generous, curious artists continues to grow as she looks forward to dance opportunities post-graduation. She is inspired by the power of dance to tell stories and connect communities, believing that movement can transcend language and culture. Committed to lifelong learning, Sierra-Loren aims to explore innovative ways to express emotions and experiences through dance, pushing the boundaries of their artistry.
