Sam Lee Baladejo

Sam Lee Baladejo (they/he) is an actor, dancer, singer, and choreographer hailing from Los Angeles, California. Their artistic journey began at age two as a competition dancer and they have remained devoted to the stage ever since. Sam approaches their craft with a dynamic blend of innovation and inclusivity, seeking to challenge audience perspectives and biases while injecting a healthy dose of humor. Their artistic vision is driven by a desire to evoke joy, foster community, and stimulate critical thinking through their work. He aspires to bring representation to the Asian, Latinx, and Trans communities. Dionne McClain-Freeney, the music director for UNCSA’s production of "Sweeney Todd," describes Sam as "A glorious collection of dichotomies: serious + playful, leader + follower, and fluid + solid.”

Beyond the spotlight, Sam’s interests include painting, thrifting, playing DND, and long karaoke sessions. They are beyond thrilled to be a part of the 2024 class of UNCSA. Acting Credits at UNCSA include Tobey in "Sweeney Todd," Farmer and Old Soldier in "Mother Courage and Her Children," Oliver in "As You Like It: the Musical" and Sebastian in "Twelfth Night." Co-choreographer credits include: "Heathers: the Musical," "Sweeney Todd" and "As You Like It the Musical."
