Matías De La Flor was born in Lima, Peru. His family moved to the U.S. in 2003. Always a sports fanatic, performing caught him by surprise junior year of high school. Ever since then community, craft and passion for stories have kept him here for good.
After graduating with an associates in acting from Florida School of the Arts; UNCSA has been the artistic home for growth, exploration, and realization of his career. On stage, Matías has been seen as: Vershinin ("Three Sisters"), Burton ("Burn This"), Balthazar ("Our Lady of 121st St."), Usnavi ("In The Heights"), Kurt Kelley ("Heathers"), Fluellen/Nym ("Henry V") and Leonardo ("Bodas De Sangre"). On screen: "Where’s Rose" (Jared), "Umbra" (Derrick), "All We Were" (Nico). As a creator, centering around the Latin experience has been his main focus. Matías has produced: "Rico" (director, editor, creator), "Artist in Residence" (director, editor, dreator) and "Romeo y Julieta Limeño" (writer/producer — in progress).
His Instagram page "mattity_kitchen" is a platform for his other passion, cooking. There you can see pictures of all the dishes he makes and short films about food that inspired his endeavor to create his own work. In his free time, you’ll catch him on the soccer field, cooking for friends and family, or watching every Lionel Messi video on the internet.
