Julianna Pittman is from Greenville, North Carolina, where she first discovered her passion for dance at the North Carolina Academy of Dance Arts. There, she trained in a wide range of styles, including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, musical theater, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop. In 2021, she took the next step in her journey by enrolling at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to pursue a BFA in Contemporary Dance.
At UNCSA, Julianna expanded her technical foundation and versatility, training in Classical Ballet, Limón, Cunningham, Partnering, Improvisation, Composition, West African, and Countertechnique. She had the opportunity to perform in new works by Rena Butler, Pearlann Porter, and Gina Patterson, and danced in iconic repertory by Jose Limón, Merce Cunningham, Shen Wei, and Ming-Lung Yang.
Looking ahead to her graduation in 2025, Julianna is eager to continue exploring her passions for choreography and nurturing the next generation of dancers, while also embracing new opportunities as a performing artist.
