The Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts awards Campus Development Grants to UNCSA
faculty to explore and implement ideas and projects that advance creative learning
and engagement both on campus and in the broader creative sector. For the 2023-2024
grant cycle, UNCSA faculty are invited to submit proposals that align with the UNCSA Forward strategic plan to support creative development.
Faculty Leadership Grants
Faculty Leadership Grants allow UNCSA faculty to explore and develop new approaches
to creative learning, curriculum, projects, or research that enhances their knowledge
and leadership in the creative sector. Proposed activities should align with one or
more strategic areas of the UNCSA Forward strategic plan including opportunities to
enhance student learning outcomes. Awards range from $500-$5000, depending on the
number and quality of the application pool; the average award is around $2,500.
Faculty Enrichment Grants allow UNCSA faculty to supplement student learning outcomes
in their classroom, studio or lab. Grant funds may be used to augment student learning
by subsidizing ticket and transportation costs to attend regional performances, exhibits
and screenings in the state of North Carolina. Funds may also be used to pay an honorarium
to virtual or in-class speakers. These grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served
basis, and may only be applied to honoraria, tickets, and transportation costs.
