"The Rat is Dead"

Making waste into something beautiful inspires me. In this piece I reflect on the plagued manner in which humans create trash on the planet. The rat is normally seen as a pest, as something to be exterminated. Although, rats do not put the rest of the planet in fear of extinction, so perhaps the infestation is us. We are not so different from the light in which we see rats, and just as the rat is dead, so will we be. Is there anything to be done to stop this death, or will our trash consume us inevitably? All that will be left behind is what we consumed.
