The piano program offers high school, undergraduate and graduate piano as well as
graduate level collaborative piano. You will be part of a renowned program that educates
you to be a versatile artist, ready for the challenges and opportunities of today’s
professional world.
Receive highly-personalized instruction from resident studio teachers who are also seasoned performers. Additionally, you will be immersed in a conservatory experience that has you taking 70 percent of your classes in the School of Music and 30 percent liberal arts classes.
The piano program’s 21st century curriculum offers practical courses geared toward making you successful in today’s highly competitive and challenging musical world.

Piano Faculty
In 2008, Saxton Rose became only the second bassoon professor in the 50-year history of the UNCSA School of Music. He is one of America’s most recognized bassoon soloists and chamber musicians, and has served as dean since June 2021.
