Undergraduate Program

Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts allows you to pursue what you’re passionate about, while preparing you realistically for a professional career. Students in the Design and Production, Dance, Film and Drama schools complete Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees, while musicians earn a Bachelor of Music degree.

Studies in your chosen field are balanced by academic courses in the Division of Liberal Arts, meaning you will become an artist with a dynamic perspective ready for the life ahead of you.

The Conservatory Experience

At UNCSA, you will be surrounded by a thriving community of artists that hums with creative energy. Our small campus and studio sizes allow for close relationships with faculty who become your mentors and peers who become respected colleagues. They will both support you and challenge you to be your best, as you realize your potential and reach for your dreams.

The Academic Experience

The intense focus on your art is tempered with courses in the Division of Liberal Arts. Whether you’re drawn to math or science, philosophy or psychology, your undergraduate experience is designed to give you a well-rounded education in the liberal arts, often infused with discussions of the arts and their role in society at large.
