School of Dance

Like all great artistic disciplines, dance is an ongoing conversation between the classical and the contemporary, between iconic productions of The Nutcracker and daring new works from emerging choreographers. In both the college and high school programs at the School of Dance, you can choose to concentrate in either classical or contemporary dance, but you will train and perform extensively in both disciplines. As the exclusive educational affiliate school of the American Ballet Theatre, our industry connections are unrivaled. Through our rigorous and nurturing conservatory experience, you will explore a diverse, world-class repertory that develops talented young performers into technically sound, artistically sensitive and stylistically versatile professional dancers.

The School of Dance continues to be exceptional and unique; our students not only work with an excellent faculty, but also have many opportunities to work with guest artists from around the world, who are at the top of the field. These opportunities, along with high quality academics, and exposure to the other arts schools on campus: (Film, Drama, Design and Production, and Music) create well-informed, well-rounded artists. UNCSA is an artist's haven, and promises our students an extraordinary adventure.
