About the Footcandle Film Festival
The Footcandle Film Festival began Friday, Sept. 20 with a 60-hour competitive Footcandle
FilmLAB. Three UNCSA student teams led by M-Alain Bertoni, Jackson Robinson and Ethan
Droze participated.
Over a 60-hour period, the filmmaking teams wrote, shot and edited a short film based
on a genre they drew from a hat at the Friday night FilmLAB kickoff event. On Monday
morning, each team turned in their finished film to be screened in front of an audience
at the Footcandle Film Festival’s Coming Attractions preview event on Wednesday, September
25.
The Footcandle Film Festival jury and audience prize winners in all categories will
be announced at the festival’s closing awards ceremony on Sunday, September 29.
