The 10-month Master of Science in Management (MSM) degree program is designed for undergraduate non-business majors who have little to no full-time work experience. It seeks to transform critical thinkers into business professionals who are ready to contribute to their organizations and communities immediately, upon their graduation. Coursework focuses on core business functions and skills through experiential learning that is practical and collaborative.

The program starts in July of each year with a rigorous six-week session to prepare students for graduate-level business courses. During the fall and spring semesters, the program will provide students with strong foundations in finance, marketing, operations, business analytics, accounting, economics, information technology, ethics, organizational behavior and leadership.

Graduates of the MSM program move forward in their desired fields with a skill set aligned with the talent needs of the marketplace, based on customized, individual career counseling by specialists in the WFUSB placement offices.

GPA: All prospective students must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above through their junior year and/or up to the time of application to the MSM program.

Math prerequisite: A letter grade(s) of B or better in one of two math-based courses: MAT 1300 (Statistical Reasoning), MAT 2300 (Calculus), or an equivalent-based course in the social sciences or advanced quantitative methods. The intent of this criterion is for WFUSB to assess a student’s quantitative ability, given the MSM course curriculum rigor.

Entrance exams: GRE or GMAT standardized test score with a GRE score of 300 (Minimum 145 Quant), or GMAT score of 600 or better. The Miller Analogies Test (MAM) is not accepted. Graduate entrance exams do not have to be taken before students submit their applications. However, a final admissions decision will not be made until these test scores are received by WFUSB. A test waiver may be requested by any UNCSA student who can demonstrate quantitative ability via their transcript/prior coursework.

Application fee waiver: WFUSB will waive the standard $100 program application fee for all UNCSA applicants. In the application fee waiver field, UNCSA students should enter the special UNCSA code “ARTS”.

Waiver of written application essay: UNCSA students will not be required to submit written application essay questions as a part of their application package. In the essay portion of the application again, just enter the code “ARTS” in each essay text box area. These questions (or slight variations thereof) will instead be covered verbally during an applicant’s in-person interview.

GRE test prep: UNCSA students are eligible to participate in GRE test prep sessions offered periodically by WFUSB. These sessions are included at no charge as a part of the special UNCSA application package. At a minimum, applicants are encouraged to utilize some form of test prep system, such as the Kaplan GRE Test Prep book, available through all major book retailers.

Convenient interview locations: Once selected for an interview, admissions interviews can be held on either the Wake Forest campus or, if more convenient for the student, on the campus of UNCSA, at a mutually-agreed upon date and time.

UNCSA students admitted to the MSM program through the UNCSA-Wake Forest Partner Program will be eligible for scholarship awards based on cumulative GPA at the time of admission:

• Cumulative GPA of 3.3 - 3.399: $5,000
• Cumulative GPA of 3.4 - 3.599: $10,000
• Cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher: $15,000

Scholarship awards may be adjusted upward based on a student’s demonstrated leadership ability, internships, extracurricular activities, standardized test score (if applicable), and other examples indicative of potential future academic and professional success. Financial need may also be considered.
