English as a Second Language
University of North Carolina School of the Arts provides tutoring in English as a Second Language (ESL) for non-native speaking admitted students. For further information about the ESL program at UNCSA, contact the ESL Program Director Nora Streed.
High School Program
All incoming high school students whose first language is other than English must demonstrate proficiency by taking the TOEFL Junior test and scoring the minimum required by the institution. Individual ESL tutoring is provided as needed. Please email streedr@uncsa.edu to arrange an appointment.
Undergraduate & Graduate Programs
All incoming undergraduate and graduate international students whose first language is other than English must first demonstrate proficiency by taking either the TOEFL or IELTS test. After admission, students should set up a consultation with the ESL Program Director, Nora Streed, 2309 Teaching Learning Center. Individual ESL tutoring is provided as needed.
